Dr Prana Kar – Principle Dentist

Dr Prana graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago (Dunedin, New Zealand) in 2004.
She grew up in Africa (Zambia) and New Zealand, and after completion of her dental degree, she commenced dentistry as a Dental House surgeon in
Redcliffe Hospital, Queensland. Prana has gained extensive knowledge and skill in treating emergency and complex dental cases including surgical
wisdom teeth removal, trauma, medically compromised patients and children’s dentistry.

Since then Prana has worked in Private practice in several different practices in Geelong and Melbourne, gaining experience and receiving mentor ship from top clinicians.
Prana is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is member of the Australian Dental Association.
Prana has developed a gentle, caring, friendly and professional approach to dentistry. Her philosophy is to provide excellent, gentle, state of the art and affordable dentistry
through exceptional clinical and communication skills. Patient education regarding oral health with a strong focus on prevention and conservative dentistry to preserve and
return broken and decayed teeth to its original shape, strength and function in a comfortable and modern environment.

Prana is very passionate about dentistry and enjoys providing dental care to all age groups, her areas of interest are in Cosmetic and Restorative dentistry, General dentistry,
Restorations (fillings), Crown and bridgework, Dentures, Extractions and Periodontal (gum health) treatments. Prana leads the Grovedale Dental Team in its commitment to
provide excellent dental care and a positive impact to the community, she believes each person should be treated as if they are family and in an individualised, one on one basis
to provide improvement in health and smile. Prana is committed to continuing professional development and likes to keep up to date by attending courses regularly and learning new techniques.

Outside of work, Prana enjoys yoga, badminton, outdoor fitness training, reading, cooking, movies and travelling. She also enjoys spending time with her young family
including her husband and son who takes up a lot of her time as any parent will know.
